|
|
Make your own Vanilla Chip Dip for Dog Biscuits!
Add a bit of fun and glamour to your everyday doggy treats. Of course, we recommend natural treats whenever possible (you rarely find them on your grocery shelf - if you need suggestions on great natural products to try email us, we're happy to share our favorite Barkery's with you!).
You humans can even lick the bowl afterwards!
Vanilla Biscuit Dip
Ingredients:
1 Pound of your favorite Doggie Biscuits (amount will vary with the amount of coating used on each one and the size of the biscuit) 1 lb pure vanilla chips 1 teaspoon Safflower Oil
Optional Ingredients: 1 tablespoon - Natural powdered vegetable extracts for coloring* Sugar sprinkles
Melt the vanilla chips using a hot water bath (double boiler method) or by microwaving the chips for 30 seconds at medium heat. Add the Safflower Oil and coloring if desired. Stir well. Heat for an additional 30-60 seconds at medium heat or until completely melted (microwave ovens vary greatly in power, please watch carefully).
Remove from microwave, stir to cool just slightly. Dip the first biscuit and place on waxed paper or baking rack to dry. Continue to dip and stir until all biscuits are coated or until the chocolate hardens. Reheat gently if necessary.
Decorate with sprinkles if desired while coating is wet. Get really creative and fill a decorator bag with a different color and write your pup's name or add dots, flowers, or snowflakes for a festive cookie. Wrap in cellophane and add a decorative ribbon and these make a great give for a fellow doggy for birthday, Christmas, or any gift-giving holiday!
Store cookies in a dry, cool place.
Woof!
